Utility Crew Lead - Stevens Filter Plant - 10483

Overview The Crew Lead is responsible for leading a crew in the operation and maintenance of the water system and wastewater collection system. They are responsible for training, public safety, and procedure compliance of assigned staff and workload. This position perform will little to no supervision after-hours and has significant engagement with contractors and residents. This position will report to a Foreman or higher position that will delegate work schedules and expectations. Responsibilities

• Ensure crew's daily assignments are completed
• Perform, lead and train crews to Install, repair, and maintain waler distribution and wastewater collections systems
• Operate Backhoe and large excavation equipment
• Train employees for CDL and proper equipment operation
• Ensure proper dosing and disinfection of waler mains and repair material
• Review, interpret, and train crew members on maps, plans, drawings
• Create permits for street cuts & confined space entry, ensuring traffic control plans, trench safety, and worksite safety practices are followed
• Coordinate installation of well point and by-pass pumps
• Use internal software to create work orders and include associated information; Provide customer service to citizens
• Coordinate activities on job site with engineers, construction inspectors, consultants, and customers
• Perform, lead & train crews to conduct wastewater system maintenance, cleaning, & videoing (CCTV)
• Review, interpret, & train crew members on maps, plans, & drawings; Plan, lead, and perform Installation of large volume commercial and residential meters
• Perform, train, and schedule crews to install, program, & maintain AMR components and conduct water service turn off/turn on for all customers
• Perform, lead, & train crew members to properly investigate and mitigate issues on water distribution and wastewater collection systems
• May be asked to perform other duties as assigned Position Type and Typical Hours of Work

• Rotating 40-hour work week, available to work additional hours as needed
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is a schedule requirement

• High School Diploma/ GED
• Four (4) years of experience Licenses and Certifications Required
• Any one of the following TCEQ licenses: o Class I Collections o Class D Wastewater Operator o Class D Water Distribution o Class D Surface Water o Class D Ground Water
• A valid Class B Commercial Driver's License is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire Preferred
• Class A Commercial Driver's License Employment Testing Employment is contingent on passing any post-offer pre-employment screening as listed below:
