Facilities Crew Leader

This position functions as a lead on daily maintenance work and performs manual labor required to maintain City parks and facilities. Duties include mowing grass, clearing vegetation, cleaning parks, playgrounds and pavilions, general operation, maintenance and repair of parks, equipment and facilities and leading the day to day tasks

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED

This position receives general supervision from the Facilities Supervisor. This position functions as a lead to other Maintenance Technicians.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Leads daily maintenance work and may supervise other personnel in performance of daily tasks. Maintain grounds in City parks, recreational facilities, municipal facilities and properties. Responsible for the maintenance of facilities, including park and city buildings, playgrounds, fences, and irrigation system. Responsible for the construction and maintenance of new and existing fields. Operates and maintains equipment and park machinery, including mowers, tractor, skid-steer loader, excavator and trucks. Assists other park in various parks, fields and facilities maintenance tasks, including installing irrigation systems, and landscaping. Performs set-up and clean-up of facilities or parks for special events. Operate various vehicles and power equipment such as mowers, edger, tractors, line trimmers, chainsaws etc. Maintain, construct, repair municipal facilities and equipment Minor street maintenance, small concrete and asphalt repairs Maintain, replace or repair traffic control/street signs throughout the City limits Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned Constant use of protective footwear, eyewear, and reflective clothing Must have excellent job attendance and punctuality

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma/GED One-year experience in maintenance/construction or equivalent experience. Any combination of experience may qualify if it would provide the skills necessary to perform these tasks. Two years experience in supervision of at least two other persons.

Required Licenses or Certifications:

Valid Texas Driver's License required (Class C) Irrigation License required or ability to obtain within one year.
