Work is performed outdoors in various weather conditions at City parks and facilities. Duties require exposure to hazardous chemicals, tools, equipment, and potential infectious martials. The position involves frequent standing, walking on uneven surfaces, bending, lifting, and moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in parks or landscape maintenance, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Must possess a valid State driver's license.
Knowledge of:
- Park and facility maintenance methods, tools, and equipment.
- Safe handling and storage of chemicals, pesticides, and herbicides.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and irrigation.
- Relevant local, state, and federal regulations.
- Workplace and equipment safety procedures.
Skill in:
- Operating and maintaining maintenance tools, vehicles, and equipment.
- Planning, prioritizing, and organizing multiple work assignments.
- Inspecting and troubleshooting facility or equipment issues.
- Interpreting manuals, plans, and work instructions.
- Effective oral and written communication.
Ability to:
- Supervise and motivate staff to achieve operational goals.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with staff, supervisors, and the public.
- Perform physical tasks in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.
