Tree Service Crew Leader

Cox's Tree Service is a family-owned tree service specializing in large tree removals by crane, working in Charlottesville, as well as Albemarle, Augusta, Rockingham, and Nelson Counties. We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual who enjoys leading a hard-working team that performs tree work both with and without cranes, utilizes heavy equipment to get the job done and problem-solves on a variety of job sites.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Starting pay is $28-$36 per hour depending on experience & certifications (annual income of $58,240-$74,880)

SCHEDULE

Typical schedule is 7am-5pm, four days/week or 8:30am-4:30pm, five days/week depending on type of work scheduled (Mon-Fri only, depending on weather, no weekends) Some flexibility is required due to weather and the nature of the work Full-time position

REQUIREMENTS & RESPONSIBILITIES

Setting up job sites Assessing safety conditions Ensuring proper use of equipment and communicating with clients Directly supervise ground crew and assign specific tasks to crew members on site Perform proper pruning cuts according to

standards Utilize proper climbing techniques with approved knots and rigging techniques Follow safety procedures according to OSHA and

ANSI-Z133

standards Ensure all crew members wear PPE (personal protective equipment) at all times Oversee use of equipment on job site; identify any non-operational equipment and report immediately to owner Update office manager daily regarding jobs and clients Efficiently use time, materials and equipment Direct team in thorough clean up and secure all materials when job is complete Exhibit a strong work ethic and positive attitude at all times. QUALIFICATIONS ISA

Certification or willingness to obtain upon employment Valid driver's license - CDL A or B preferred but not required. Must have ability to obtain CDL within 90 days of hire date. At least 3 years of bucket truck operation At least 3 years of experience with chippers, stump grinders and chainsaws At least 3 years of experience making proper pruning cuts according to

standards and rigging limbs At least 2 years climbing experience At least 2 years of experience in

RESIDENTIAL

tree removal and pruning Familiarity with and ability to perform: crown reduction, thinning, raising/elevating, dead wooding, vista pruning, pollarding, structural pruning, and safe removals Ability to repeatedly bend, climb, kneel and lift 50 lbs Ability to work in extreme weather conditions for prolonged periods of time Must pass pre-hire drug test, background check, and MVR check Must have transportation to/from work Cox's Tree Service is a
