Full Job Description Job Summary:
This position is responsible for the picking, tagging, and loading process in support of maximizing the efficiency of the shipping process while ensuring accuracy and quality of plant material being shipped.
Job Responsibilities:
Oversee the daily picking and tagging process providing direction/supervision to the crew leaders in both areas including rack, penalty, and tag inspectors. Ensure flow rate boards are updated hourly. Monitor and balance labor between pickers and taggers during processing to meet set requirements per hour. Monitor the work of rack inspectors to ensure plant material is retail ready with required moisture, blooms, etc. Monitor the work of tag inspectors to ensure tags and barcodes match plants as well the price on the barcodes match prices on the orders. Update the picking and tagging data sheets. Oversee and supervise the daily loading of outbound semis, local bobtails, and customer pickups. Complete and update the live load sheets daily. Monitor the call sheets for specific items such as POP, promotional material, plants from PDSI/Liners, etc. Receive information from trucking office on loads, revisions, and trailer/trucking company changes, and communicate daily with yard supervisor with information for trailer assignments, etc. Receive truck processing orders/changes from Market Supervisor and make changes as necessary. Maintain load crew data sheet. Other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications:
Prior supervisory experience is preferred. Ability to organize, motivate, and lead employees. Good communication skills and work well with others on the team. Good problem solving and computer skills. Attention to detail.
Work Environment:
Outside/Shipping Dock - exposed to very cold and very hot temperatures.
