Job Description

Lawrence Doors, Inc., a leader in the commercial door industry, and a part of Amarr / ASSA ABLOY Group (the global leader in opening solutions) is looking for an experienced Shipping and Receiving Lead for our Baldwin Park Factory. Willingness to work overtime a must. The Shipping and Receiving Lead oversees logistics operations, ensuring efficient movement of goods, training staff, and maintaining quality standards.
Key Responsibilities Manage Shipping and Receiving Operations:
Oversee all shipping and receiving activities, ensuring timely and accurate processing of goods.
Team Leadership:
Train and supervise shipping and receiving staff, acting as a liaison between management and the team.
Quality Control:
Perform quality checks on outgoing shipments to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
Documentation and Compliance:
Maintain accurate shipping records, including packing lists and bills of lading (BOL), ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
Collaboration:
Work closely with production teams, customer service, and logistics partners to coordinate shipment statuses and resolve discrepancies.
Inventory Management:
Record all activities in the inventory management system, updating stock levels as necessary.
Safety and Efficiency:
Adhere to safety regulations and best practices in all activities, operating material handling equipment safely. Experience Previous experience in shipping and receiving, logistics, or warehouse operations is preferred, typically requiring 3-7 years. Understanding of shipping processes, inventory control, and compliance with safety standards.
Communication Skills:
Strong communication skills are essential for effective collaboration with team members and external partners.
Detail-Oriented:
Attention to detail is crucial for maintaining accurate records and ensuring quality control.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.
Compensation:
Hourly pay rate of $28.00 (DOE) + medical, dental, vision, PTO, 401K with company match.
