Warehouse Manager / Operations Manager Position Summary The Warehouse Lead is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations and ensuring the efficient flow of inventory and order fulfillment activities. This hands-on leadership role supports warehouse staff through training, task delegation, and performance management while maintaining a safe, organized, and productive work environment. The Warehouse Lead serves as the primary point of contact for operational issues and works closely with management to meet customer expectations and company objectives. Key Responsibilities Team Leadership & Training Supervise and support warehouse associates in daily operations. Delegate tasks and prioritize workloads to ensure operational efficiency. Provide one-on-one coaching and training for new and existing team members. Monitor employee performance and ensure the team consistently meets daily Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Foster a positive team environment focused on accountability, safety, and continuous improvement. Order Fulfillment & Logistics Oversee all picking activities to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Coordinate workflow to meet daily shipping deadlines and productivity goals. Inventory Management Supervise receiving operations and inspect incoming merchandise for accuracy, damage, or discrepancies. Conduct regular cycle counts and inventory audits to maintain inventory integrity. Investigate and resolve inventory variances in a timely manner. Utilize Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to track inventory movements and maintain accurate records. Safety & Compliance Enforce company safety policies and warehouse operating procedures. Conduct routine inspections of warehouse equipment, workstations, and facility conditions. Ensure all employees follow proper safety practices and use required personal protective equipment (PPE). Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient warehouse environment consistent with safety standards. Operational Troubleshooting Serve as the primary point of contact for day-to-day operational issues. Identify and resolve order delays, inventory shortages, and equipment malfunctions. Communicate operational concerns and recommend solutions to management. Support process improvement initiatives that increase productivity and accuracy. Required Qualifications Experience 1-3 years of experience in warehousing, logistics, distribution, or a light industrial environment. Previous leadership, team lead, or supervisory experience is highly preferred. Technical Skills Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS). Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications. Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment. Understanding of inventory control and warehouse processes. Soft Skills Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively with warehouse staff, management, and other departments. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the workday. Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures and operational conditions. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with inventory management systems and barcode scanning technology. Knowledge of receiving, and logistics best practices.
