Job Description
At Philz, Bettering Days starts long before a cup of coffee is served. As our Warehouse Lead, you'll help lead the day-to-day work that keeps our stores and customers supplied with the highest quality coffee. Working closely with the Warehouse Manager, you'll support a detail-oriented warehouse team across packing, forklift operation, inventory, cycle counts, continuous improvement, and housekeeping practices all while keeping safety, quality, and Philz's Core Values at the center of the work. This role is based at our Roasting Plant in Oakland, CA. Shift time 5:30am - 2:00pm.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Operations Lead shipping team to ensure all orders are picked, packed, and shipped by specified deadlines in online, retail store and wholesale area Utilize WMS Scanners to receive, putaway and move inventory throughout the warehouse Utilize WMS Scanners to pick, pack, and ship online/wholesale/retail orders Wrap and label pallets with appropriate lot code and expiration information Print pick tickets and pack slips for relevant orders from ERP system Pack and Ship retail store orders in ERP system Activate and process gift cards for online orders Prepare paperwork for outgoing truck shipments and customer pickups Supports training and mentoring of new and existing team members Troubleshoot and solve more complex warehouse issues Ensure Bar Code / Lot code / Freshest by information is accurate and properly applied Communicate, disseminate and perform daily tasks for assigned sections Deep understanding of all processes in the Warehouse Communicate ideas, issues, needs with Supervisor Inventory Participate in weekly cycle counts and EOM inventory counts Manage inventory of supplies for the department (eg boxes, tape, etc) Spot check orders for accuracy Compliance Report maintenance issues to the supervisor Follow Safety / OSHA processes, procedures and regulations Follow Food Safety (FSMA, SQF, GMP) practices, procedures and regulations Attend all Food Safety Training Continuous improvement and 5S projects as directed Contribute to a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a professional manner with customers, suppliers, and co-workers Other projects and duties as assignedWHAT YOU'LL NEED
3+ years previous experience in a medium to large warehouse and/or packaging experience 1+ years previous experience in a lead role in a warehouse environment Good command of English language skills both written and oral Previous experience in a role that requires a strong attention to detail and adherence to guidelines, policies or procedures Previous experience working in a team environment and demonstrates professional and positive communications and behaviors Basic math skills (adding, subtracting multiplication) Able to work a variety of shifts and has a flexible schedule ServSafe Food Handler and Forklift experience are a plusESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Visual acuity Ability to lift up to 50lbs consistently Ability to stand and move for long periods of time (6-8 hours) Ability to use fingers, hand, reach and bend down (4-6 hours) Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another Physically able to move pallets weighing up to 1500 lbs, with a manual or electric pallet jack •Compensation & Benefits A reasonable estimate of the hourly rate for this role is $26 to $31. Please note that the base pay will vary based on qualifications, previous experience, and work location.
