Job Description
Purpose of Position:
Manage port and warehouse scheduling, carrier appointments, and cargo flow to ensure timely loading, accurate handling, and strong coordination across teams.Accountabilities:
Schedule all carrier appointments by aligning product availability with slot capacity to ensure timely truck loading. Schedule appointments for commercial cargo. Communicate daily schedules to Port Security to facilitate efficient gate access and faster service. Work closely with Sales and Transportation teams to ensure on-time order delivery. Coordinate with Sales on oversold product and prioritize loading accordingly. Address scheduling issues or concerns raised by Sales, dispatchers, or drivers. Collaborate with the Warehouse Team Leader on inventory flow, traffic management, and operational goals Assist the warehouse with truck docking as needed. Log warehouse transfer deliveries accurately. Clearly code live loads versus drop-off cargo to ensure correct handling. Assign special coding to non-conformance cargo to prevent loading on standard orders. Ensure non-conformance cargo is prioritized and loaded only on approved special orders. Update the Del Monte Orders - Pallets Loaded spreadsheet daily with prior-day activity. Update and maintain rejected truck forms daily. Report rejected trucks to the Transportation teamMinimum Skills Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent. 2+ years of warehouse or logistics experience, including inventory handling and dock operations. Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS). Ability to coordinate truck appointments and support warehouse flow. Excellent communication skills (i.e. oral and written). Well organized and able to multi-task. Good interpersonal and communication skills (i.e. oral and written). Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task. Ability to work as a team player. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs (i.e. Excel, Word and Outlook, etc.).TWIC Card Preffered:
BS Degree in Logistics or related field Experience with fresh produce operations. Knowledge of Produce Pro is a plus.
