Sage Parts is the world's largest supplier of GSE (Ground Support Equipment) and airport-related equipment replacement parts with operations in North and South America, Europe, Asia, and Africa. Sage Parts supplies replacement parts and accessories for all types and brands of GSE. Sage provides supply chain management, on site supply services, single source supply, logistics solutions, engineering solutions and other cost reduction programs.
Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Site Supervisor to become a part of our team in the Chicago, Midway Airport area. The Site Supervisor will work with and support the Site Manager in running the day-to-day operations. They will ensure compliance with all administrative policies, procedures, safety rules and government regulations. Below is a detailed list which includes, but is not limited to, the Site Supervisor's basic job requirements, duties, responsibilities, and expectations. A role as a Site Supervisor provides a chance to influence with a focus on safety, leadership, excellence, self-motivation, drive, collaboration, Innovative, problem-solving and teamwork. Create a positive work environment through real-time observation and specific, constructive and actionable feedback. Please note, the Site Supervisor position requires availability to work across all three shifts to support the 24-7 facility.
Essential Duties, Responsibility, and Expectations:
Warehouse Operations
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge of all departmental (Receiving, Shipping, Inventory, etc.) processes and procedures to ensure all staff members are following standard operating procedures. Quality and Productivity
  • develop, monitor, measure, and coach departments to increase warehouse operations efficiency and operational performance (increased Quality, increased Productivity, decreased staff labor hours to volume, etc.) Inventory Control
  • ensure appropriate inventory verification procedures (ABC Cycle Count, Bin Verification, etc.
) are in place and are properly executed to maintain inventory record accuracy. Action plan for maintaining / increasing Sage Parts system (Prophet 21) inventory record accuracy to the physical on-hand parts / items quantities. Ensure inventoried parts / items are handled / stored to support damage-free movement / storage. Monitor physical inventory and inventory records to reinforce loss prevention. Reports
  • Review, monitor, and maintain the integrity of reports (Unshipped Transfer Report from Branch, Unshipped Transfer Report to Branch, Not Received Transfer Report to Branch, Expedited Unshipped Transfers Report, Warehouse Load Report (Inbound), Warehouse Load Report (Outbound), Zero Bin Inventory Card Report, Unconfirmed Pick Ticket Report, etc.
) to ensure fulfillment of orders / transfers, and to ensure inventory accuracy Discrepancies
  • Provide support to departmental staff by researching and resolving discrepancies (Transfer Log, Receiving Discrepancy Log, Material Discrepancy Log, etc.), and recommending measured preventive action plans for reoccurrence. Communications
  • Drive accountability, transparency, and effective cross-functionality communication amongst departments, while ensuring information is timely, clear, and accurate. Hold scheduled daily standup meetings with all Warehouse personnel to ensure effective action planning to accomplish all scheduled assignments / projects per plan, with follow-through to completion.   • Plan warehouse operational requirements and follow up on results. Training
  • Ensures all staff are trained on all internal processes and procedures (Receiving, Shipping, Inventory, Safety, Housekeeping, Material Handling Equipment, Human Resources based training, etc.) and all in compliance with safety and occupational guidelines, and per Sage Parts handbook Safety
  • observe, monitor, and supervise warehouse safety by implementing and enforcing compliance with safety guidelines, report non-compliance, and recommend correction actions to non-compliance / safety infractions Vehicle Control
  • monitor, inspect, and provide weekly Vehicle Inspection Log detail for all Sage Parts vehicles used at site. Follow through with Vehicle Accident report for any / all incidents pertaining to the Sage Parts vehicles, and recommend corrective actions for reoccurrence Reward
  • Recognize and reward individual / department optimal performance Discipline
  • Recognize, coach / re-train / discipline substandard individual / department performance. Provide warnings in accordance with Sage Parts handbook Support
  • Directly support and provide flexibility to the Manager in a continual effort to increase operational efficiencies and optimal Distribution Warehouse performance Role Model
  • serve as a Distribution Warehouse role model to drive a high performing (Quality, Productivity, Safety, etc.
) Distribution Warehouse Operation, and to promote Best Business practices
Qualifications:
Five years' operations experience in the areas of warehousing, freight and logistics Solid leadership ability with the capacity to solve problems through unexpected situations, goal and solution orientated Knowledge of Epicor P21 Ability to operate a forklift Must be able to motivate and influence others Ability to multitask, meet deadlines and adapt to changing priorities Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft office applications We stand behind our customers, products, and services as responsibility, support and continuous improvement are the key words which drive our work attitude.
