Full Job Description Position Description:
Position Summary The Fleet Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the uptime and roadworthiness of the equipment we operate. This role serves as the central point of contact for driver breakdown calls, repair coordination, preventative maintenance tracking, and equipment records management. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, communicates clearly under pressure, and is committed to minimizing downtime for drivers and customers alike. Key Responsibilities 1. Receive breakdown calls from drivers and identify appropriate repair facilities to route equipment for service 2. Monitor daily maintenance issues across tractors and trailers and provide regular status updates to relevant stakeholders 3. Coordinate with repair shops and roadside service providers to minimize equipment downtime and keep customer loads on schedule 4. Research repair facilities and service providers to ensure cost-effective and timely repairs 5. Track, report, and relay service information for all preventative maintenance and annual inspection activities 6. Initiate, audit, and maintain all equipment maintenance files across required systems 7. Enter all maintenance invoices accurately into the Transportation Management System (TMS) 8. Order parts as needed to support timely repairs and equipment readiness Qualifications 1. Prior experience in fleet maintenance coordination, transportation operations, or a related field preferred 2. Strong communication and multi-tasking skills; comfortable handling urgent situations calmly 3. Familiarity with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) a plus 4. Basic knowledge of tractor/trailer mechanics and maintenance terminology preferred 5. Proficient in data entry and record-keeping 6. Ability to work in a 24/7 operational environment as needed
