You will assist and manage daily operations, including leadership, scheduling, parts, customer contact, facility and equipment oversight, and finances. Our ideal candidate should have management experience in a marine environment, preferably at a boatyard or marina.
Responsibilities:
  • Financial responsibility to include labor margin and efficiency, storage capacity utilization, cost control, inventory management, and parts margin.
  • Identify and implement ways to contribute to the company's profitability.
  • Take responsibility for regular, on-time, and accurate billing and keep unnecessary credits to a minimum.
  • Oversee employee hours and minimize non-billable work.
  • Work with HR to hire, train, coach, monitor, and review employees' performance.
  • Identify, schedule, and ensure prompt repairs, maintenance, and inspections on all buildings and equipment.
  • Monitor technical training and product knowledge requirements to ensure all employees perform their assigned jobs adequately.
  • Keep accurate records and ensure that our manufacturer's training requirements are met for maximum warranty reimbursement.
  • Take responsibility for implementing processes that ensure safe, effective, and efficient work procedures.
  • Review service reports for efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3 years of previous management experience, which includes employee supervision, training, accounting and related budgeting activities, inventory control, advertising, and customer relations.
  • Marine-related experience is strongly preferred.
  • Understand and comply with government regulations about marine operations and handle all governmental reporting and compliance aspects, including but not limited to weights and measures, OSHA, EPA, and Corp of Engineers.
  • Experience pulling a trailer, driving boats, forklifts, and launching boats.
  • General accounting knowledge and basic understanding of financial statements.
  • Must be available for 24-hour telephone contact for emergency response.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to work in a team environment to achieve team, department, and corporate goals.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work.
