Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Yard Supervisor to oversee daily operations within our warehouse and outdoor yard areas. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, the ability to coach employees effectively, great organizing skills, time management & delegation, extensive warehouse management experience, and a solid understanding of logistics, inventory control, and materials handling. This role is vital in ensuring efficient yard operations, maintaining safety standards, and supporting overall delivery processes. The Yard Supervisor will coordinate team activities, manage established processes, and optimize workflow to meet operational goals. Duties Supervise and coordinate yard activities including shipping, receiving, and materials handling Coach and mentor employees to continuously follow the established processes without fail Promote a safe working environment Maintain an organized yard and warehouse Operate or oversee the operation of forklifts and other heavy machinery for materials movement and loading/unloading Manage the maintenance of forklifts and shop equipment Lead and manage warehouse employees, providing training and support to ensure productivity and safety Monitor inventory levels, conduct regular cycle counts, and coordinate with logistics teams for accurate stock management Oversee shipping & receiving operations, ensuring timely dispatching and receipt of goods Verify outgoing & incoming deliveries for accuracy Implement process improvements to enhance warehouse workflows, reduce waste, and improve safety standards Qualifications Proven experience in warehouse management or as a warehouse supervisor with a strong background in inventory control and materials handling Extensive knowledge of logistics, shipping & receiving procedures, and warehouse distribution processes Experience operating forklifts Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams in a fast-paced environment Mechanical knowledge related to warehouse equipment maintenance and troubleshooting Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during daily operations Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory management and process improvement initiatives
Pay:
$65,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year
