The successful candidate will ensure that items are shipped and delivered in a timely manner and will be responsible for organizing and verifying deliveries. Applicants for this position must have prior experience working in a warehouse environment, strong attention to detail, and excellent organization skills.
Responsibilities:
Manage logistics operations/functions including dispatch, warehousing, paperwork, inventory, etc. Act as the point of contact for internal and external clients. Work with vendors to maintain sufficient materials for the manufacturing / processing processes Maintain files and records, so they remain updated and easily accessible. Receive shipments and sign paperwork upon receipt. Contact the supplier or the shipper if a mistake is identified. Assume responsibility for returning unsatisfactory shipments or receiving replacements. Maintain accurate records and assist in inventory control. Inform clients and partner companies regarding the shortage of products if not aware. Interface with customers on order updates/shipping updates. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Schedule outbound truckloads and containers. Ensure load accuracy by working with corporate office personnel. Answer and direct phone calls, take messages or redirect calls to appropriate colleagues. Maintain contact lists. Write and distribute emails, correspondence memos, letters, and forms. Order office supplies and research new deals and suppliers. Provide general support to team members and visitors. Sort and distribute incoming mail and prepare outgoing mail (envelopes, packages, etc.). Utilize office appliances such as photocopiers, printers, and computers for word processing, spreadsheet creation, data entry, etc. Assist in office management and organization procedures. Monitor stocks of office supplies (paper clips, stationery, etc.) and order when there are shortages. Provide supervision to 2 direct reports. Perform other office duties as assigned.
