Job Description
Prospect Construction is a Heavy Civil Contractor that specializes in water and wastewater treatment plants, hydraulic structures/facilities, shoring systems, large concrete tanks, pump stations/process facilities, dewatering, major excavations, structural steel, process equipment, and mechanical systems. Position Overview Prospect Construction, Inc. is looking for a dependable and experienced Lowbed Driver / Yard Coordinator to join our team in Missoula, MT. This dual-role position is critical to our daily operations — you'll be responsible for safely transporting heavy equipment to and from job sites while also keeping our yard organized, efficient, and ready for action. Key Responsibilities Operate lowbed trailers to transport heavy construction equipment, machinery, and materials to and from job sites Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on trucks and trailers in compliance with DOT regulations Coordinate yard operations including staging, organizing, and tracking equipment and materials Maintain accurate records of all equipment and materials entering and leaving the yard Assist with routine maintenance and upkeep of yard equipment and vehicles Identify and report repair needs; assist with minor mechanical work as needed Assist with loading and unloading equipment using proper rigging and securement techniques Maintain accurate logs, permits, and transportation documentation Communicate with project managers and field crews to plan and prioritize equipment moves Keep the yard clean, organized, and safe at all times Qualifications Valid Class A CDL required Experience operating lowbed/RGN trailers with oversized or heavy loads Knowledge of load securement standards and DOT regulations Strong organizational skills and ability to manage yard inventory and recordkeeping Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to assist with equipment maintenance Ability to work independently and coordinate with multiple teams Experience with a variety of heavy construction equipment preferred Clean driving record Prospect is looking for individuals that exemplify our core values of Passion, Courage, Team, and Stewardship.
