  • Transportation/Logistics Red Valve Gastonia is looking for a Shipping and Receiving Coordinator I to join our Logistics Team.
The Shipping and Receiving Coordinator will be accountable for arranging the picking and preparing of products for shipment. This position verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and oversees the preparation of items for shipment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: Unpacks, examines and routes incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages. Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies. Correctly read BOLs and extended shipping/receiving order descriptions Generate and organize quality and export documents for international shipments Maintains FedEx, UPS, or other carrier(s) using computer software. Pick, prepare, and track product shipments Works under moderate supervision May operate lift trucks or hand tucks to convey, move or hoist materials to proper departments or areas. Comply with all safety and health regulations and maintain work cell through 5S and housekeeping Participation in special projects and other duties may be assigned, including Kaizen events and other continuous improvement/lean activities Skills/Experience Minimum of one year of material handling experience, preferably in an industrial setting Minimum of 3 years' experience in an industrial environment Experience using ERP software Ethical conduct Intermediate generating of creative solutions. Demonstrate strong verbal, oral, and written communication skills. Must be task oriented with strong sense of priority and ability to manage multiple tasks. Problem solver. Must have excellent organization skills Previous experience in a metric driven, low volume/high mix, fast-paced manufacturing environment. (intermediate) Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access) Education High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or three (3) years of experience and/or training or equivalent combination of experience and education.
