POSITION
Shipping Supervisor SHIFT:
Monday•Friday, 6:00 am•2:30 pm (OT as required until 4:30pm)
PAY RATE
$28.00•$31.00+ per hour (DOE) + Full Benefit Package

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for leading and managing outbound shipping and dispatch operations to ensure safe, efficient, and on-time delivery performance. This includes supervising shipping associates, material handlers and drivers, managing truck schedules and routes, coordinating internal and external carriers, ensuring accurate documentation, and maintaining compliance with safety, quality, and DOT requirements.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Team Leadership Embrace and demonstrate the qualities of the Minnkota Windows Game Changer definition. Engage in team‑based lean and continuous improvement activities, helping to streamline workflows and drive a culture of operational excellence. Provide clear directions and ensure effective communication across teams. Address employee issues and foster a positive and collaborative work environment. Supervise and mentor direct reports to ensure productivity and quality goals are met. Route Planning Develop and manage truck schedules to ensure on-time shipping goals. Coordinate truck schedules with Production, Sales Team, and FTC dispatch. Adjust schedules and loads as needed to meet customer demands. Identify required changes to trucking routes based on territory and sales growth. Dispatch Coordinate shipment dates and assign driver routes. Ensure drivers adhere to relevant regulations including hours of service, driver qualifications, and DOT safety guidelines. Optimize routes for time and efficiency. Use shipping software to coordinate external carriers for LTL. Coordinate vehicle maintenance and service needs. Training & Development Hire, train, and mentor shipping employees to develop their skills and capabilities. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback. Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Safety & Compliance Promote and enforce workplace safety practices and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations. Implement and monitor safety procedures for all shipping staff. Ensure compliance with applicable DOT requirements for drivers, vehicles, and records as applicable. Continuous Improvement Fully participate in assigned Continuous Improvement events and meetings. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste in shipping and dispatch operations. Reporting & Metrics Monitor and communicate on-time delivery and back orders with all levels of the organization as defined. Report order discrepancy, quality, and customer reject data. Review and approve labor time reporting and paid time off (PTO) for direct reports. Other Prompt and dependable attendance. Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND QUALITIES
Strong leadership, team building, and communication skills. Experience with shipping software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office preferred. Ability to effectively manage time, delegate tasks, and resolve conflicts.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business, or equivalent experience. Minimum of 2 years of trucking, dispatching, or shipping experience. Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience.
