This subsidiary operates the terminal located near 18th & 'Y' Street, adjacent to NEBCO's OL&B Railway and Ready Mixed Concrete 'Y' Street Plant. This terminal stores, handles, and transports bulk materials used in the production of ready mixed concrete and concrete/block hardscapes. NEBCO, Inc. and affiliated companies began as Abel Construction Company in 1908 in Lincoln, NE. Today, operations span the state of Nebraska and supply the construction industry with the materials needed to construct buildings, streets and highways. NEBCO's products and services include construction, real estate, and recreation. For more information about the company visit www.nebcoinc.com Position Summary This lead position oversees and performs day to day yard operations of shipping, receiving, loading, customer service, and inventory control for NEBCO Concrete Materials. This position is also responsible for setting a standard of performance and teamwork and being responsive to the needs of the department. Fills in when needed due to absences of personnel. Must abide by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Operates in a lead capacity that would require oversight of the work of others by training, evaluation and guidance. Works with dispatcher and other personnel to process orders and loading/transport of materials. Provides support, assistance and backup in the absence of personnel by training and learning all aspects of the position. Ensures the yard area is maintained in a clean and orderly manner. Assures SDS forms are maintained and up to date for accurate information and immediate review. Other duties may be assigned. Education and/or
Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred: and 3 years previous related experience in a construction &/or construction products industry; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Previous forklift and Front-end Loader experience required.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Ability to read and comprehend delivery tickets and invoices, load and sales tickets, SDS sheets and the company safety manual. Ability to understand work direction. Must have a good sense of detail and work to maintain a clean and safe yard and warehouse environment. Must have previous responsive and courteous customer service support. Must be able to recognize a need to support department responsiveness without being told. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Must be able to distinguish between safe and unsafe conditions in the yard and in the warehouse. Must be able to work late or irregular hours. Able to lift up to 50 pounds and able to climb to heights of 125 feet. Working Conditions Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. Works in minimal of non-hazardous dust daily. Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, loud noise environment, and vibration. Tobacco free campus.
