Distribution Coordinator

Position Description The PT Distribution Coordinator supports distribution, operations, facilitates maintenance, supply management, volunteer engagement at assigned location. They are also responsible for maintaining clean and orderly storage and distribution of packed lunches, fresh produce, diapers, books, and/or other literacy materials. Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills in English
• Strong organizational, time management and computer skills,
• A passion for building and serving urban and rural communities
• A strongly held commitment and dedication to the success of Mighty Writers
• Proven ability to develop good rapport with people of all ages and backgrounds, including children, teenagers, parents and volunteers
• Ability to work well with others and under pressure Additional Desirable Requirements
• Bi-Lingual English/Spanish
• Valid driver's license, car, and a clean driving record Primary Responsibilities
• Support the Assistant Director of Community Impact with coordinating pickups with local grocery stores, food pantries/banks and other community partners.
• Pick up and deliver food on a regular schedule to and from Mighty Writers location following all established delivery protocols.
• Examine and inspect food, supplies, materials, or products to ensure that product quality and packing specifications are met.
• Receive, unload, open, unpack, food, supplies or products
• Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in pantry, or other areas.
• Stock shelves, racks, cases, bins, and tables with new or transferred items
• Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in pantry, or other areas.
• Provide assistance or direction to other distribution staff, volunteers, etc.
• Provide a physical presence at the distribution site.
• Follow up-to-date safety protocols and best practices for health and safety.
• Dispose of damaged or defective items, or return them to vendors/partners as appropriate.
• Ensure the availability of safety materials (gloves, wipes, etc.) for all staff and volunteers.
• Lead joyful and respectful distribution of resources to community members, supporting volunteers on-site.
• Communicate regularly with the Program Director and Assistant Distribution Director about all of the above.
