  • Friday 6:30am-3:00pm General Summary The Packing Sr Supervisor is responsible for the timely and accurate packing of all orders for the Mail Order, Retail, Wholesale and International divisions of Patagonia.
The responsibilities associated with this position are divided into four categories including training merchandise processors, overseeing daily operations, and communicating departmental information both internally and externally. In this role you must be passionate about our mission to save our home planet and support our colleagues by exemplifying our culture, core values, and mission every day. As a Sr. Supervisor, Packing you will be expected to provide support for your team to volunteer with local non-profits and to get outdoors to participate in our core sports. What You'll Do Leadership Practice empathetic and supportive listening, being fully present in one-on-one and/or team meetings. Tailor approaches to meet different communication styles. Create an environment where everyone can learn from mistakes, provide their input, and ask judgment-free questions. Value the perspective of team members, even if it is different from your own. Participate in the interview process for prospective Merchandise Processors. Partner with the Shipping Manager and Sr. Manager to craft and deliver Performance Evaluations for Merchandise Processors and Supervisors including the writing and presentation of evaluations to the staff. Generate weekly department productivity and statistical reports. Training Train Merchandise Processors on WM. Partner closely with the Training team for training in all procedures of Packing Functions for Merchandise Processors. This includes how to pack for all divisions, how to select appropriate shipping containers and how/when to change shipping method. Also includes how to handle problem orders (i.e. orders missing items). Train Merchandise Processors in Retail Tagging, Wholesale VAS services, Promotional orders, and Mail Order Gift bagging functions as necessary. Select and train Merchandise Processors (as needed) on how to do the distribution of paperwork. Maintain KPI information for the Pack floor. Provide support for co-workers to analyze problems, investigate and obtain information to generate solutions. Support co-workers to recognize and handle problems as quickly and as constructively as possible. Review safety training issues as necessary: lifting, forklifts, emergency exits/procedures, etc. Train seasonal and temporary employees (when applicable). Operations Coordinate the packing of shipments for all divisions of Patagonia. Partner closely with the International Supervisor and Sr Supervisor regarding outbound International orders. Partner closely with Inventory Control to resolve any problems with outbound orders (i.e. out of stocks, missing items, mislabeled items). Partner closely with the Picking and Receiving Supervisors and Sr Supervisors to ensure that all picked items (including full case picks) have been delivered to the appropriate area. Partner closely with the Shipping Supervisor and Sr Supervisor to ensure all orders are packed and shipped daily. Partner closely with the Shipping Manager regarding shipping services and methods. Partner closely with the Shipping Manager in setting up the wave scheduling process in WM. Communication Prepare and present information to the Merchandise Processing staff each morning to ensure co-workers are kept informed of daily workload, priorities, and goals. Act as a resource for resolution of technical problems/issues within the department. Communicate and coordinate with the Picking Sr. Supervisor and Shipping Manager regarding RUSH orders, special requests, etc. Communicate and coordinate with other Department Sr Supervisors regarding workloads and staffing issues. Communicate with Customer Experience, Dealer Services and other customer contact departments regarding special requests, problems, issues, etc. Communicate and work in partnership with Picking, Packing and Shipping Supervisors on the opposite shift to ensure a smooth transition between shifts. Provide Manager with information about co-worker's quality and quantity of work, offer suggestions and recommend action when necessary. Additional Responsibilities Maintain adequate supplies for the department including the ordering of all cartons, bags, tape, gift wrapping supplies, etc. Work in Shipping, Repairs, Receiving, Worn Wear, Returns, Quality Control, and Inventory Control departments when necessary. Experience You Bring 3-5 years of warehouse, inventory, shipping, logistics or other related work experience. 1+ of leadership experience in a warehouse, distribution center setting supervising employees (approximately 24-42) at one time, including temporary and seasonal help. Strong knowledge of all procedures associated with the packing of merchandise for all divisions of Patagonia. High attention to detail. PC computer skills. Warehouse Management Software (WMS) computer experience necessary. Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook experience is desirable. Related degrees, certifications, or licenses are preferred. Physical Requirements Ability to complete repetitive tasks daily. Ability to physically distinguish differences of color. Ability to consistently climb stairs and walk for extended periods of time. Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time. Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 lbs., at times above shoulder height. Ability to safely team lift 70 lbs.
Hiring Range :
$30.90 USD/HR
  • 34.50 USD/hr At Patagonia, pay ranges are assigned to a job based on the location specific market median of similar jobs according to 3rd party salary benchmark surveys. Individual pay within that range can vary for several reasons including skills/capabilities, experience, and available budget. Note the full pay range for this role ranges from: $30.90

Workplace Location Overview This position is On-Site , requiring employees to work at our Reno office during standard business hours.
