Job Description:
MISSION (Commander's Intent) Lead a high-performance maintenance operation that keeps a critical fleet and heavy equipment safe, reliable, and mission-ready. This role ensures all vehicles and assets remain operational•supporting essential service delivery and the teams who depend on consistent equipment uptime. Success means building a culture where safety, accountability, and technician development are the foundation of every shift.
PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES
(First 12 Months)
Fleet Readiness:
Achieve 95%+ equipment availability across all fleet assets through proactive maintenance scheduling and rapid repair turnaround.
Safety Leadership:
Enforce a zero-incident safety standard through daily toolbox talks, disciplined LOTO procedures, and compliance training.
Team Development:
Coach and develop a team of diesel technicians, fostering cross-training, skill growth, and diagnostic readiness.
Operational Excellence:
Identify and implement process improvements that reduce unplanned downtime and increase overall shop productivity.
Cost Management:
Maintain disciplined budget control across labor, parts, and vendor repairs while sustaining high service quality.
Compliance & Documentation:
Ensure all maintenance records meet applicable federal, state, and internal audit standards.

Requirements Required Experience Must have served in the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Space Force, U.S. Reserves, or U.S. National Guard Proven success managing fleet or heavy-equipment maintenance operations in transportation, industrial, or municipal environments Strong technical background in diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and diagnostics Demonstrated leadership in technician training, performance management, and culture building Preferred Profile Military veterans with senior enlisted or warrant officer backgrounds in motor transport, maintenance management, or logistics are highly aligned Familiarity with OSHA, DOT, and EPA compliance standards Proficiency with maintenance tracking systems and Microsoft Office or equivalent Benefits Estimated compensation range: $95,000•$115,000 annually (based on experience).
