Manager, Warehouse Operations PURPOSE:
As the senior leader on the warehouse floor, the Warehouse Supervisor is accountable for the safety, quality, inventory accuracy, productivity, and engagement of the warehouse team while ensuring customer orders are shipped accurately and on time.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Process outbound shipments in the ERP. Organize and oversee pick and pack functions. Perform a quality check on EVERY shipment that leaves the warehouse. Monitor staffing on the floor and recommend staffing changes as required. Provide direction to the warehouse team. Create and maintain an environment of role clarity, team work, safe work practices and regularity. Liaise with internal and external resources as they relate to equipment maintenance, plant housekeeping and ground control. Ensure inventory accuracy through cycle counts, root-cause investigation, and corrective actions. Monitor and fulfill warehouse KPIs including on-time delivery, shipping accuracy, inventory accuracy, productivity, and safety metrics. Ensure all inbound shipments are received, inspected, and processed accurately and in a timely manner. Train, coach, and develop warehouse personnel to improve performance Investigate customer complaints, shipping errors, inventory discrepancies, and quality concerns, implementing corrective actions as required. Maintain warehouse organization through adherence to 5S and housekeeping standards. Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and cost reduction. Ensure compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and regulatory standards. Collaborate with Customer Service, Purchasing, and Transportation teams to ensure smooth operational flow. All other duties assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
: Supervise up to 15 employees. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include:
o Interviewing, hiring, and training employees. o Directing work; appraising performance. o Rewarding and coaching employees. o Addressing complaints. o Manage attendance, scheduling, vacation requests, and overtime requirements. o Contributing to a positive workplace culture This role will be responsible for efficiency, safety, quality control and continuous improvement of the facility.
QUALIFICATIONS
Four to six years' related experience and/or training in managing people. Safety training; knowledge of a supervisor's role and responsibilities in safety. Experience with Lean Manufacturing and 5S. Experience using ERP systems. Certification in First Aid/CPR Emergency Care would be an asset. A valid fork truck license or previous experience is required. Computer literacy is required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Standing/walking. Providing support in operations, involving some physical effort. Lifting 50lbs repeatedly.
