Toledo, OH Job Details Contract $28 - $30 an hour 22 hours ago Qualifications Operations management Shift management High school diploma or GED Manufacturing facility Bachelor's degree Business Administration Full Job Description Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Material Handling Supervisor to lead a team of hourly employees in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for overseeing material receiving, inventory replenishment, warehouse operations, and production support activities to ensure uninterrupted plant operations and achievement of daily production targets. The ideal candidate will have experience supervising material handling, warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing teams and possess strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills. Key Responsibilities Lead and supervise hourly material handling employees in daily operations. Ensure timely receipt, storage, movement, and delivery of materials to production areas. Monitor and maintain line-side inventory levels to support production schedules. Allocate manpower and resources effectively to meet operational requirements. Troubleshoot material flow, inventory, staffing, and operational issues to prevent production disruptions. Promote and maintain a strong safety culture throughout the operation. Collaborate with production, maintenance, quality, and warehouse teams to improve efficiency. Work closely with union representatives and employees to address workplace concerns and support positive labor relations. Manage material handling equipment and coordinate routine maintenance activities. Support Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Kaizen, and 5S initiatives. Prepare and maintain reports related to safety, inventory, productivity, and operational performance. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Previous supervisory, team lead, or leadership experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, logistics, or distribution environment. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced operation. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) or Google Workspace. Ability to work any shift, including overtime and weekends as required. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field. 18+ months of manufacturing, logistics, warehouse, or supervisory experience. Experience supporting production line material replenishment and inventory control. Previous experience working in a unionized manufacturing environment. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Kaizen, or 5S methodologies. Experience with inventory management systems, ERP, or warehouse management systems (WMS).
