As a manufacturer of custom brand-oriented displays, retail environments, and commercial case goods, Bench Dogs relies on the efficiency of its warehouse department. The operation of this department plays a central role in our ability to perform successfully as a business and deliver on our promises to our customers. The way we are able to do this is by depending on exceptionally talented, bright, and committed people. Within the warehouse department, a key role is that of Warehouse Supervisor, whose job it is to oversee the warehouse operations and staff at Bench Dogs. The Warehouse Supervisor is a skilled multitasker who manages the receiving, handling, storing, picking, packing, inventory, and shipping activities of the warehouse, ensuring that quality standards are met or exceeded. They are responsible for achieving inventory accuracy, coordinating order fulfillment, and tracking shipping times for products. A successful Warehouse Supervisor is experienced in optimizing warehousing processes, has excellent organization and time management skills, and is an effective, dependable leader who is exceptionally detail oriented. OBJECTIVES OF THIS ROLE
Ensure that the warehouse operates at peak efficiency - with customer satisfaction the primary goal - by supervising, organizing, and training warehouse employees and establishing, monitoring, and managing operational goals. Develop warehouse operations systems by determining product handling and storage requirements, equipment utilization, inventory, shipping methods, and department processes. Train and manage the warehouse team to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short- and long-term performance goals. Oversee daily operations while controlling and managing inventory and logistics. Review and prepare workflows, staffing requirements, space allocations, and action plans that meet company standards for productivity, quality, and customer service. Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing standards and procedures and by complying with legal regulations. RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise daily warehouse activities, including quality assurance, inventory control, space management, logistics, productivity, shipping, and customer service. Schedule and oversee warehouse team and manage the flow and quality of work to maximize efficiency and minimize overtime. Inspect materials, equipment, tools, and machinery regularly, and oversee that general maintenance is addressed when necessary. Meet regularly with the warehouse team to analyze productivity and develop actionable plans for loss prevention. Attend regular meetings with other departments to remain current on business operations and share reports with management on the key performance metrics and matters of the warehouse department. Oversee and manage logistics for transporting products to customers and the company's facility, communicating with drivers and shipping partners to ensure efficient delivery of products and materials. REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent. Three or more years of experience in a warehouse role managing hourly employees. Proficiency with warehouse procedures and policies, and an ability to embrace and incorporate modern warehousing processes and technologies. Knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures. Knowledge of US Customs and DOT regulations. Proficiency with computers, MS Office Suite, and ERP systems. Excellent leadership qualities, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of company staff, customers, suppliers, and vendors. Ability to deliver effective feedback and instruction, both written and verbal. PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Associate or bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in logistics or supply chain management. Proficiency with supply chain management for warehouses. Proficiency with Epicor (ERP system). License to operate a forklift. Ability to communicate in more than one language. ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS
Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check. Must be able to successfully pass a substance abuse screen. Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to be added to the company insurance policy. TRAVEL:
Occasional local travel may be required. WORK ENVIRONMENT
The Warehouse Supervisor position works in an office setting within a warehouse environment and includes the possibility of some physical labor and outdoor exposure during the workday. The role routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, printers, and filing cabinets. Standard warehouse equipment such as hand trucks, forklifts, box cutters, label makers, and tape dispensers will be used occasionally. PHYSICAL DEMAND REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of their job, the Warehouse Supervisor is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle controls; and talk or hear. Reaching with hands and arms is frequently required, and the act of standing, walking, and stooping is occasionally required. The person in this role must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and periodically lift up to 50 pounds. The specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. POSITION TYPESCHEDULE
The Warehouse Supervisor role is a full-time, salaried position where the regular days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
