Full-time Shipping & OSS Supervisor Meadville/Erie PA Area Summary:

Our client is a premier, tier 1 automotive supplier who is looking for a Shipping & OSS Supervisor. The Shipping & OSS Supervisor is responsible for executing the outbound production plan by overseeing shipping operations and managing outside service processing (OSS) to ensure the timely and accurate movement of material from production to the customer. This role leads shipping personnel, coordinates daily shipment execution and ensures efficient flow of materials to and from external processing vendors. The Shipping & OSS Supervisor works closely with Production Control and operations to resolve flow disruptions, maintain shipment accuracy and support on-time delivery performance in a fast-paced, union manufacturing environment. The Shipping & OSS Supervisor will ideally 5 years' experience in logistics, shipping, or manufacturing operations with 2 years' experience in a leadership/supervisory role.

Shipping & OSS Supervisor Job Requirements:

Minimum of 5+ years of experience in shipping, logistics, or manufacturing operations with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role Strong understanding of material flow, shipping processes and logistics coordination in a manufacturing environment Experience managing outside service processing (OSS) or external vendor relationship preferred Working knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., Odyssey or similar) for tracking orders and shipments Proven ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment Strong communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to work cross functionally Ability to manage changing priorities while maintaining focus on safety, quality and delivery performance

Shipping & OSS Supervisor Job Responsibilities:

Supervise daily shipping operations ensuring all shipments are executed in alignment with Production Control priorities and customer requirements Oversee OSS (Outside Service Processing) activities including outbound shipments to vendors and inbound returns to support production flow Lead, direct and support shipping personnel including assigning work, monitoring performance and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards Coordinate with Production Control to understand daily shipment priorities and ensure execution aligns with the production plan Ensure accuracy of shipments including part numbers, quantities, labeling and required documentation Monitor shipment schedules and carrier activity addressing delays, capacity constraints or logistical issues as they arise Maintain effective staging and material flow within the shipping area to support efficient loading and minimize handling delays Communicate shipment status, delays, and issues to Production Control, operations and other stakeholders as needed Drive continuous improvement in shipping and OSS processes identifying inefficiencies and implementing solutions to improve flow and performance Ensure compliance with safety policies, procedures and union work rules promoting a safe and respectful work environment
