Yard Operations Supervisor-Full-Time Panters Scrap Metal Position Summary Panters Scrap Metal is seeking a dependable, motivated, and hands-on Yard Operations Supervisor to oversee daily scrap yard operations, coordinate employees, maintain safety standards, and ensure efficient material flow throughout the yard. This position plays a critical leadership role in maintaining productivity, customer service, and operational organization in a fast-paced scrap recycling environment. Key Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate daily yard operations and employees Oversee incoming and outgoing scrap material flow Ensure proper sorting and processing of ferrous and nonferrous metals Monitor equipment usage and communicate maintenance needs Enforce company safety procedures and OSHA compliance standards Assist with customer service and resolve operational issues as needed Coordinate loading/unloading of trucks, containers, and trailers Ensure yard cleanliness, organization, and operational efficiency Verify weights, materials, and quality control standards Assist management with scheduling, workflow planning, and operational improvements Train and mentor yard employees on procedures and safety practices Maintain professionalism and accountability among staff Qualifications Previous scrap yard, recycling, construction, industrial, or heavy equipment experience preferred Leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to work in a fast-paced outdoor environment Knowledge of ferrous and nonferrous materials preferred Ability to operate or oversee heavy equipment operations safely Dependable attendance and strong work ethic required Ability to lift, climb, stand, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions Preferred Skills Experience with loaders, forklifts, cranes, or heavy equipment Knowledge of safety procedures and operational compliance Experience managing teams and coordinating workflow Basic computer or inventory system knowledge helpful Compensation & Benefits Competitive pay based on experience Opportunities for advancement Stable, growing company environment Hands-on leadership role in a fast-paced industry We are open M-F from 8-4 and Saturdays 8-12 Compensation is negotiable range $20-$30 per hour Apply through this job ad or in-person at 813 N Main Street, Estill Springs, TN 37330
