Energy Job Purpose The Terminal Operator performs service work relating to transferring liquids (petroleum products.) between marine, rail, truck and/or storage tanks within the terminal.
Essential Duties:
Safely load and unload Vessels, Barges, Rail Cars and Trucks.
Inventory:
Must be able convert gross gauge numbers to net using API, temperature and VCF. Testing of products and documentation of results; maintenance of terminal equipment and preparation of various reports.
Transloading:
Tank to truck, Railcar to truck, tank to railcar, railcar to tank, tank to tank transfer, truck to tank, barge to tank and tank to vessel/ barge. Must be able to gauge tanks, railcars, and trucks. Calibrate and adjust all additive injection systems as required. Basic testing such as RVP/TVP, viscosity, A.P.I. and flash when necessary Perform daily walk around inspections to identify any potential risks. Housekeeping at the place of work is a Terminal Operators responsibility. Perform regular inspections, preventative maintenance and repairs on all equipment and maintain logs as appropriate. Safely operate movable equipment to load and unload materials and supplies. Ensure that all Terminal equipment, including safety devices and systems are functioning properly, and report any and all equipment failures to supervisor. Perform other job-related duties as training allows and assigned by Supervisor.
Clean job site:
ensure all equipment, tools and materials are returned to proper place. Basic computer skills are required. Dockman; Receive 48 hours of training required by the USCG to become Dock PIC. Follow company policies and comply with company regulations. Communicate product outages and equipment downtime to appropriate individuals. Participate in emergency situations as required. Performs other duties as assigned. Able to accommodate travel, overtime, extreme weather, and participate in on-call rotation as required.
Requirements:
Possess and maintain a valid driver's license. Interpersonal communication skills are required in order to interface with all affected personnel. Basic computer and Microsoft Office experience. Must pass pre-employment drug screening and be subject to random DOT drug screening. Must have or be able to obtain a valid TWIC. Ability to routinely lift or carry moderately heavy equipment up to 50 pounds, working, stooping, kneeling, bending, climbing, and walking distances in all types of terrain.
