Shipping Supervisor

Description:

Responsible for the direction, supervision, and coordination of the warehouse and shipping operations at the Beaumont Steel Mill related to trucking, rail and export delivery of coiled rebar, rods, and billets. Under the direction of the Logistic Manager, the incumbent is responsible for the timely and accurate inventory and shipment of product to customers and warehouses. Reporting to the incumbent are 17 Shippers. The incumbent works closely with subordinates, on a daily basis. Primary responsibilities include coordination of rail and truck shipments and warehouse inventory control. Inventory control includes the accurate and timely completion of sample counts and other inventory control documentation as well as directing the finishing personnel as to warehouse product storage to improve warehousing efficiencies and decrease damaged/scrapped product. Incumbent must be in contact with Sales, Commercial Carriers, outside customers, corporate scheduling, and railroad/trucking companies/General Transportation.

Requirements:

This position's qualifications include two to three years of shipping, delivery, and inventory experience and include computer competency, accurate preparation of records, inventory control, scheduling, and people skills. Incumbent must also be familiar with ICC regulations and shipment requirements.
