Job Description
RRS F oodservice is looking for an experienced Day Warehouse Supervisor to directly supervise and coordinate the activities of the Receiving Department. This position coordinates and implements safety programs within the operations department and acts as the facility coordinator for HACCP, GMP and all other required facility programs. This position is directly responsible to: Plan work schedules and assign duties to maintain adequate staffing levels, to ensure that activities are performed effectively, and to respond to fluctuating workloads. Schedule inbound loads through PowerDock, interact with the Purchasing department, outside vendors and carriers to ensure timely scheduling and delivering of inbound truckloads. Use Roadsync application to accurately charge vendors/carriers for items related to lumping fees, late arrival fees, rescheduling fees, etc. Work with Sales and customers for picking up and loading Will Call orders, allocating labor where needed. Collaborate with workers and managers to solve work-related problems. Review work throughout the work process and at completion, in order to ensure that it has been performed properly. Coordinate, review and implement all safety matters and culture within the Warehouse. Shared oversight of safety records and logs of Worker's Compensation cases. Conduct, write and perform safety incident investigations according to RRS policy and OSHA standards for first reporting Assist in developing and implementing training plans for HACCP, GMP, allergen control, chemical control, glass control, SSOP's and all required plan programs. Review and evaluate all HACCP records for accuracy and completeness and determine needs for process improvements. Assist in yearly HACCP audit providing support to the Director and VP of Operations. Provide documentation to auditor and answer any questions. Assist in touring the facility with the auditor Evaluate employee performance and prepare performance appraisals. Perform the same work duties as those whom are supervised, and/or perform more difficult or skilled tasks or assist in their performance in all areas of the warehouse and in all temperatures. Prepare and maintain work records and reports that include information such as employee time and wages, daily receipts, and inspection results. Conduct staff meetings to relay general information or to address specific topics such as safety. Counsel employees in work-related activities, personal growth, and career development. Resolve personnel problems, complaints, and formal grievances when possible, or refer them to higher-level supervisors for resolution. Recommend or initiate personnel actions such as promotions, transfers, and disciplinary measures. Assess training needs of staff; then arrange for or provide appropriate instruction. Estimate material, time, and staffing requirements for a given project, based on work orders, job specifications, and experience. Inspect job sites to determine the extent of maintenance or repairs needed. Communicates with VP of Operations all safety related issues, including working with each Operations Manager daily / nightly to ensure documentation and ownership is present. Performs on-call duties during assigned rotating schedule. Schedule includes opening receiving shift on most days and the flexibility to work mid shift or closing shift in the receiving department. Flexibility to work longer than 8 hour days and staying later for company meetings or other events specified by Director or Manager. Qualifications for
