Job Description

Position Summary Reporting to the Warehouse & Supply Chain Manager, the Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, inventory control, and team supervision. This role bridges operational execution and leadership by ensuring efficient workflows, maintaining accurate inventory, and supporting safety and quality programs. The Warehouse Supervisor provides direct supervision to warehouse staff, supports SOP implementation, and ensures that operational targets and service levels are consistently met. This role is both hands-on and leadership-focused, with regular time spent on the warehouse floor. Duties & Responsibilities Operations & Execution Supervise day-to-day warehouse activities including shipping, receiving, picking, packing, and material handling Coordinate workflow and staffing to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment Support and participate in material movement using warehouse equipment as needed Monitor and ensure proper product handling, storage, and rotation (FIFO) Troubleshoot operational issues and escalate as needed Team Leadership & Supervision Provide daily direction, coaching, and support to warehouse associates and leads Monitor employee productivity and ensure adherence to performance expectations Assist in onboarding and training of new employees on SOPs and safety practices Promote a positive team environment and reinforce company values Participate in performance discussions and provide input to management Inventory & Systems Management Ensure accurate inventory transactions within the WMS/ERP system Conduct and supervise cycle counts and physical inventory processes Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies Support inventory accuracy initiatives and continuous improvement efforts Assist with data entry, reporting, and documentation Safety and Compliance Identify and escalate safety hazards, provide recommendations and address corrective actions as necessary. Support Food Safety Initiatives, including managing BRC Certification requirements. Comply with OSHA policies, GMP, GFSI, HACCP, and other relevant regulations. Other duties as Assigned Work closely with management team on ad hoc projects in the warehouse. Assist Warehouse Manager with reporting, scheduling, and operational planning Partner with various departments daily on warehouse and production setup. Perform other duties as assigned. Physical Requirements & Working Conditions This role will be required to work according to the schedule set by their immediate supervisor. Schedules may be changed from time-to-time according to operational needs. Combination of warehouse floor and administrative work Weekend work, overtime and statutory holiday hours may be required. The incumbent will be working in various areas of the warehouse and production including but not limited to coolers and freezers with varying temperatures. Safe operation of power equipment will be required. Occasional lifting of up to 50+/- lbs may be required. Long periods of standing, sitting and bending required for the role.
Position Qualifications:
Experience:
3-5 years of warehouse, logistics, or distribution experience 1-2 years of supervisory or team lead experience preferred Experience with WMS/ERP systems required Previous experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment in a warehouse environment (e.g. safe loading & unloading of trucks, palletizing and racking in the warehouse). Previous experience in an office administration role within food distribution, manufacturing, warehousing or equivalent. Previous experience working in food manufacturing or food distribution considered a bonus. Prior experience working with an WMS ERP system or related software a plus.
Education, Training & Certifications:
High school diploma required Post-secondary education in supply chain, logistics, or related field preferred Forklift certification required or willingness to obtain First Aid certification considered an asset
Knowledge & Skill:
Strong leadership and team coordination skills Solid understanding of warehouse operations and inventory control Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) Effective communication and problem-solving abilities Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Safety-focused mindset Adaptable, resourceful and a willingness to learn.
Pay:
$28.00 - $35.00 per hour
