Job Description

In this Supervisor position you will utilize your leadership experience in our high volume, fast-paced distribution center operations in Dodgeville, WI. You will also enjoy a variety of leadership duties for coordinating departmental operations in an efficient and cost-effective manner. Responsibilities also include assisting in the development and monitoring of budgets and forecasts for staffing and equipment needs which includes analysis, recommendations to attain optimum department efficiency. This role will be instrumental in driving change across their department as we implement our Warehouse Management System. The Supervisor plays an essential role in facilitating communication from the Manager/Director to the front-line Leaders and employees in the department. This person must be a positive catalyst for change and a motivator to meet/exceed department goals and objectives. The supervisor will also work closely with other departments while keeping the goals of Lands' End at the forefront of their decisions.
Job Summary:
  • Analyzes departmental output and contributes to improvements needed for optimum department efficiency.
  • Delegates job assignments to department leaders and employees.
  • Drive direction and motivation of the team.
  • Develop and execute procedures and programs which promote efficiency of the department.
  • Perform special projects or studies as needed within the department.
  • Promotes standards of company performance in all verbal, written and behavioral communications.
  • Influencer to help others accept change for a positive adaptation.
  • Coaches and counsels, all department members in areas of performance, as needed. Assists in the handling of performance appraisals, interviews and assessment forms.
  • Drives the process of disciplining, documenting performance and counseling, while working with the department leadership team.
  • Responsible for clear communication with front-line employees - conducting daily floor meetings. Participates in company programs and events and encourages departmental participation.
  • Conduct or ensure proper safety & compliance training has been completed with all employees, enforce safe work practices, correct and/or escalate unsafe conditions, and conduct appropriate follow-up on employee incidents.
Required Skills:
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in a related area (Business Management, Operations Management, etc.) is preferred.
  • Three or more years' prior experience in a leadership role preferred.
  • Previous experience implementing and working with a Warehouse Management System and/or SAP.
  • Strong working knowledge of distribution center operations.
  • Excellent communication skills, written, oral, public and interpersonal.
  • Coaching and counseling experience.
  • Understanding of assessment procedures: performance appraisal process, interpretation and decision making related to performance problems, corrective discipline process, career development tools and evaluation forms.
  • Organized, self-motivated, decisive, objective, positive, takes charge and supportive of the development of others.
  • Proficient computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
