Summary Under the direction of the Senior Buyer, the Shipping Lead is a working supervisor overseeing the coordination, packs and prepares customer orders for shipping and/or outside services, receives material and equipment, and loads and unloads trucks according to established procedures and shipping regulations, meeting customer delivery requirements. Also, this position will cross trains to help with receiving/material Handling. Essential Duties And Responsibilities This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time. 1. Pick orders from stock or from staging area. 2. Utilize various customer logistics portals to request and schedule services. 3. Ensure customer order and product match; box, crate, and/or shrink-wrap as necessary. 4.
Shipment Tracking and Scheduling:
Utilize JobBoss daily to review products ready for shipment and ensure timely processing. 5. Load trucks with outgoing products and unload trucks with incoming materials, using forklifts and pallet jacks. 6. Inspect materials and ensure bills of lading are correct. 7. Verify the quantity and quality of material received. 8. Place incoming materials into inventory. 9. Operate a bander to band boxes to be shipped. 10.
Delivery monitoring:
Review the shipping schedule daily to track shipments, identifying delays, early deliveries, or on time arrivals, and take necessary actions internally and externally to resolve issues. 11. Affix completed address label and any other special labels required for the handling of material and specified by the carrier. 12. Complete and maintain all required paperwork, including pack lists, vendor pack lists, and bill of ladings to include Shippers Letters of Instructions (SLIs) for shipments in accordance with USMCA trade regulations (U.S., Canada, and Mexico). 13. Train and mentor team members, offering technical advice and guidance and guidance to foster individual growth, aligned with enrichment of the individual values. 14. Motivate and support employees to achieve daily production goals, emphasizing safety, quality, and productivity. 15. Conducts regular safety checks, ensures proper use of PPE, enforces safety protocols across the team, and adheres to all health, safety, and environmental compliance. 16. Provide coverage to receiving material handler in their absence. 17. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications and/or Skills required
  • High School diploma or equivalent; Associate degree or higher preferred in Business, Purchasing and Logistics, or Supply Chain Management.
  • Requires 2 to 3 years shipping, receiving or logistics experience.
  • Required 1 to 2 years experience as team lead, frontline supervisor or manager.
  • Required strong written and verbale communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills, Microsoft office
  • Required Conflict resolution skills.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes, JobBoss/Unipoint software, and mechanical aptitude is a plus. TRAITS

Pay:
$26.00 - $30.00 per hour
