Job Description

Job Description Objectives To perform under the direction of a Warehouse Foreman, the work associated with such duties as inventory, issuing, receiving, and storing equipment and materials, and maintenance of the records pertaining thereto. To perform all work assignments in a safe, effective manner.
Reporting Relationships Reports to:
Warehouse Foreman Directs:
Warehouse Trainee(s) as assigned. Performs Personally Assists the Warehouse Foreman in properly accounting for and maintaining supplies, materials, and equipment under the Warehouse jurisdiction. Reads and interprets material pick lists to ensure proper materials and quantities are issued and returned consistent with accepted procedures. Operates a variety of material handling equipment such as, but not limited to: forklifts, flatbed trucks, and pallet jacks for issuance and receipt of materials and supplies. Performs physical inventories, as directed, to determine stock levels, and notifies Warehouse Foreman of impending shortages. Performs good housekeeping practices in the Warehouse and outside storage within the Warehouse areas of responsibility. Pick up, deliver, and haul materials to the crew at their request. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Relationships Internal Warehouse Foreman:
Reports to, receives work assignments, and guidance. Discusses problems encountered in the work. External Has completed at least four years of experience as warehouseman / material handler for an Electrical Utility or Distribution and Transmission Contractor. Job Qualifications Education High School graduate or equivalent. Experience Has completed at least four years of experience as warehouseman / material handler for an Electrical Utility or Distribution and Transmission Contractor. Abilities and Skills Must be able to repeatedly lift and/or handle objects which are reasonable for a Warehouseman, consistent with Federal and State safety standards. Must be able to reasonable demonstrate the ability to learn new materials and procedures as required. Other Requirements Valid Alaska Driver's License. Medical Examiner's Certificate as required by the State of Alaska. Current Red Cross First Aid/CPR Certificate or State of Alaska equivalent.
