Position Overview:
We are seeking a hands-on Material Handler to support daily plant operations in Bay Minette, AL. This role is responsible for safely moving, staging, and tracking materials using forklifts and overhead cranes, while supporting shipping, receiving, and inventory control processes. This is a great opportunity for someone with manufacturing experience who takes pride in organization, safety, and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
Material Handling Operate forklifts to load, unload, move, and store materials Use proper rigging and lifting techniques Adhere to all OSHA and company safety policies Stage materials for production and workstations Maintain clean, organized storage areas Perform daily equipment inspections and report issues Make deliveries to vendor and customer locations as needed Inventory Control Support ERP system material tracking and sign-outs Will be responsible for assigning material to inventory and then assigning it to a job using the ERP system. Assist with cycle counts (daily, quarterly, annual) Ensure proper labeling and storage of all materials Maintain accurate inventory levels Shipping & Receiving Verify incoming shipments against Bills of Lading and receive to inventory Package outgoing shipments (domestic and international) Will be responsible for preparing outgoing shipments for delivery (paint,blast,band,wrap,and stage for final shipment.) Coordinate with Quality Control on shipment readiness Communicate outgoing shipments to internal team Will be required to assist in all equipment pre inspections. (blasting,chipping, hammering and testing) Will be responsible for sending shipping readiness notifications to the shipping dept
Requirements:
2+ years of material handling, shipping/receiving, or warehouse experience Forklift experience required; overhead crane experience preferred Experience using an ERP system or similar computer-based inventory tracking system Valid driver's license with clean driving record Manufacturing environment experience Ability to read prints and Bills of Materials (BOMs) Knowledge of SDS and safety procedures Basic computer skills Skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy Self-starter with problem-solving ability Sense of urgency and strong time management Effective communication across departments
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 60 lbs Stand and walk for up to 10 hours per day Work on concrete and uneven surfaces Ability to climb, bend, kneel, and reach Must wear required PPE (including respirator) Exposure to industrial noise and environment
