Warehouse Associate

Job Summary The Warehouse Associate is responsible for inventory stocking, order preparation and cleaning the warehouse and surrounding property. This is a heavily physical role requiring active and repetitive lifting of up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities Specific duties include:

Picking, packing and QA of orders Loading vehicles for delivery Stocking inventory, both physically and utilizing a forklift Operating a forklift Organizing inventory and warehouse Cleaning warehouse, vehicles and surrounding areas to maintain an excellent and professional environment Trash removal Maintaining an organized work area Willingness and ability to fill in for other roles, if needed, including delivery or order entry Assist in warehouse inventory reconciliation activities Ability to use a computer and inventory bar-coding technology Special projects as assigned Weekly and monthly meetings Requirements Must be able to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during stocking, order picking & packing, and shipping & receiving tasks Must be able to operate a forklift and obtain/maintain certification Must have and be able to maintain a valid drivers license Must be able to communicate with people effectively Must have basic mathematical skills and be able to operate a calculator Must have a positive, "can-do" attitude Must be an achiever Must be a team player Must have a clean driving record and be insurable Must be able to pass a background check (i.e. police backgrounds, reference checks…) Must be drug free and willing to submit to a drug test Physical Requirements Ability to repetitively lift and move boxes up to 50 pounds Ability to stand, walk, and move within a warehouse environment Ability to drive with no limitations, including at night Preferred Skills Strong experience in inventory management and warehouse distribution operations Proficiency in operating heavy equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and best practices for materials handling in a warehouse setting Mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting equipment issues related to forklifts or other machinery Non-smoking / tobacco-free work environment
