Yard Worker

Responsibilities Load and unload trucks using forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment while adhering to safety protocols. Operate cranes and other mechanical tools to move large materials accurately and efficiently. Pick, pack, and prepare orders using RF scanners and warehouse management systems to ensure precise order fulfillment. Maintain a clean, organized yard by stacking pallets, managing inventory locations, and ensuring clear pathways for safety. Assist with shipping and receiving activities by verifying shipments against documentation and ensuring proper storage. Conduct routine inspections of equipment such as forklifts and cranes to ensure mechanical integrity and OSHA compliance. Support warehouse management by participating in inventory counts, reporting damages or discrepancies, and following safety procedures. Requirements Prior experience in warehouse distribution or related construction environments is highly preferred. Demonstrated ability to operate heavy equipment including forklifts, cranes, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks safely. Mechanical knowledge related to warehouse machinery and materials handling tools is a plus. Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and best practices for warehouse safety. Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, and order picking processes such as picker is advantageous. Ability to perform heavy lifting regularly while maintaining proper ergonomic techniques. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for shipping & receiving tasks. Valid certifications for forklift operation or heavy equipment operation are desirable but not mandatory.
