JOB SUMMARY

The Material Handler is responsible for maintaining accurate inventories for raw material and finished goods, including notification of material movement, and conducting cycle counts of inventory to verify system vs. actual counts. Occasional overtime may be requested.

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Unloads incoming products and moves material from inventory locations to departments.
• Inspects outgoing and incoming materials to ensure cargo is sent out or received in specified condition.
• Counts, weighs, or measures incoming or outgoing items to compare identifying information and variety against bills of lading, orders, or other records.
• Examines incoming shipments for damage or shortages and correspond with shipper to rectify and notify quality personnel if necessary.
• Completes paperwork or forms required for documentation.
• Prepares materials for shipping by weighing, packaging, and labeling.
• Provides on the job training to new employees if necessary and resolves any problems that may arise throughout the day utilizing knowledge of shipping/receiving/stock operations.
• Operates material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks or dollies to move stock or reorganize storage.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

:

• Knowledge of safety practices.
• Able to handle various tasks multitasking is essential.
• Lifting heavy packages and objects.
• Operating forklift or other materials handling equipment.
• Operating large vehicles in tight and congested areas.
• Verbal and written communication.
• Self-starter/motivated to learn and grow in career.
• Team player
• willing to provide support where needed.
• Detail-oriented with ability to identify products based on part numbers, colors, shapes, etc.

PREFERRED

• One year of shipping/receiving experience; OR any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

• Forklift Certification
