ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Assist the mechanic in maintenance and repairs Equipment set-up, materials layout and preparing equipment and materials for the work task Shop maintenance; cleaning equipment and work spaces Operation of a company vehicle to obtain parts and materials from vendor locations Keeping a worker supplied with materials and tools Maintaining the compound grounds General house keeping of all spaces Operating various power tools. Operating forklifts Assist with Paint and Preservation Other duties as assigned by government officials, the Navy and APS corporate

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); successful completion of an appropriate entry level training program One (1) year of experience in the repair and maintenance of a variety of mechanical equipment. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

Valid driver's license Ability to obtain DBIDS access card to military installation

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; sit; use hands; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
