Full Job Description Material Handler Location:
City of Industry, CA Shift:
M-F, 3:30pm - 12:00am
Pay:
$19.50hr Position Summary The Material Handler is responsible for supplying film, materials, and production supplies to the converting department to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing operations. This role maintains accurate inventory records, supports warehouse organization, and ensures compliance with all safety and AIB standards. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Deliver film from WIP racks to bag machines and verify order and product numbers to ensure material accuracy. Transport film directly from the Press/Extrusion Department for priority or hot orders. Supply cartons, Gaylord boxes, pallets, and other materials to production as needed. Maintain clean, organized warehouse and WIP storage areas throughout the shift. Weigh and report scrap Gaylords at the end of each shift. Conduct accurate weekly and monthly inventories of WIP, wickets, cartons, cardboard, liners, and other production supplies. Monitor material levels to prevent machine downtime due to shortages. Retrieve pallets from the yard, perform secondary inspections, and document findings. Organize materials and supplies for efficient storage, accessibility, and warehouse cleanliness. Remove used pallets, Gaylords, and trash by the end of each shift. Receive incoming materials and supplies, verify shipping documentation, and place items in designated storage locations. Communicate regularly with Supervisors, Foremen, Lead Personnel, and administrative staff regarding production and inventory needs. Maintain forklift cleanliness and report equipment damage immediately. Complete and document daily and weekly forklift inspection checklists. Sort reusable pallets for return shipments and transport reusable cores to the shipping department. Perform additional duties as assigned by Production Management. Qualifications & Requirements 3 years of experience
Bilingual:
Spanish and English Must be able to reach and write in English Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Forklift certification required. Experience operating both sit-down and stand-up forklifts. Ability to read and verify order numbers and product numbers accurately. Ability to read and follow production schedules. Basic math skills and ability to perform inventory counts accurately. Strong communication skills and a positive attitude. Ability to complete daily and weekly inspection documentation.
