Position Purpose:
Warehouse Worker/Delivery Driver Ensures the efficient operation of the store by accurately and safely receiving, processing, and storing incoming products. Prepares, packs, and scans products for pickup and delivery. Essential Job Results and Responsibilities :
Warehouse Worker/Delivery Driver Warehouse Duties 1. Quickly and accurately receives, processes, and stores incoming product shipments. 2. Ensures shipments are inspected; any damages or shortages are noted on trucking company delivery document. Initiates freight claim procedure when necessary. 3. Check incoming delivery contents against the packing slip, track to verify accuracy, and note any shortages, damages, or overages. 5. Verifies vendor part number and Johnstone stock number for all incoming products. Determines proper bin number and rocationion of incoming products. Stores incoming products in appropriate locations according to bin number or product sequence. 6. Select products from inventory to fill customer orders. 7. Prepares, packs, and scans (as appropriate) and stages products for inter-store transfer and customer pickup and delivery by established standards (e.g., hazardous materials). Ensures that packaging is sufficient to avoid damage. 8. Processes documentation necessary to ship inter-store transfers and customer orders, including bills of lading, packing lists, small parcel manifests, and other essential documents. 9. Loads delivery vehicles and assists customers with will-call pickups 10. Processes customer returns. Ensures returns are in sellable condition per company policy. 11. Verifies that warranty paperwork has been correctly and neatly filled out. Initiates warranty return process and stages product in warranty area. 12. Performs periodic cycle counting on assigned items and records accurate inventory. Verifies actual counts of stock against computerized records. Investigate and report discrepancies. 13. Ensures safety by maintaining the cleanliness of the warehouse. Ensures that aisles are free of potential hazards—reports unsafe conditions to management. 14. Operates pallet jacks, forklifts, order pickers, and other equipment safely and organizational procedures. Monitors equipment and promptly reports any safety or maintenance concerns to supervisors. 15. Always wear protective equipment according to company policies and procedures. Accesses Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) as needed and when appropriate. Delivery Driver Duties 1. Drive a delivery truck or van to transport items to other stores or customer locations. 2. Maintain driver's license and clean driving record. 3. Perform vehicle safety checks before driving. Alternative Duties 1. May assist with customer service and sales, including answering phones, greeting customers, and servicing the sales counter. 4. May assist in the annual physical count of complete warehouse inventory. 5. May assist with special duties and assignments as needed to support the efficient functioning of the store. Required:
High School Diploma / GED required OR equivalent combination of education and experience Clean driving record Preferred:
Six months experience in warehouse operations in a wholesale environment Experience driving a forklift Experience with computer or barcode-driven inventory management systems Experience driving 24 foot box truck Job-Specific Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Warehouse Operations Basic computer skills, including knowledge and skill in the use of inventory management systems and office software (e.g., Email programs, Internet browsers) Basic math skills sufficient to manage inventory, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Ability to use computer systems and manual procedures for organizing and identifying products and communicating with coworkers. Adequate physical strength and stamina to repeatedly lift, carry, move, and set down up to 75 pounds. Skill in operating delivery vehicles, forklifts, pallet jacks, and order pickers. Strict attention to detail Personal Effectiveness s Problem-solving skills: listening to, interpreting, and meeting the needs of others; diagnosing and rectifying problems. Skill in following through on commitments. Ability to manage time in a deadline-driven environment. Strong ability to multitask and skill in prioritizing work.
