Job Title:
Material Handler Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Material Handler to facilitate the movement of raw materials and support production, assembly, and distribution operations within our warehouse. This role is essential for maintaining an efficient and organized work environment. Responsibilities Responsible for the movement of raw materials into production, assembly, and TDG as needed throughout the warehouse. Assist in 5S, continuous improvement, and Lean activities proactively and as assigned. Ensure the warehouse remains clean and organized by performing occasional tasks such as material replenishment. Assist with inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock and investigate discrepancies or address errors. Determine proper storage methods, identification, and stock location based on turnover, environmental factors, and physical capabilities of facilities. Store items in an orderly, accessible, and identifiable manner in all areas. Mark stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment. Distribute materials, products, parts, and supplies to appropriate departments or individuals based on incoming requisitions. Keep records on the use and/or damage of stock or stock handling equipment. Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors. Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work area. Perform duties as assigned by management or lead. Essential Skills At least 1 year of experience as a Material Handler. Ability to carry, push, and/or pull up to 50-70 lbs. occasionally and 20 lbs. frequently. Proficiency in using ERP systems for data input and monitoring. Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills. Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally with all levels of supervisors/leads. Knowledge of production and processing, including raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing effective manufacture and distribution of goods. Additional Skills & Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Previous experience in inventory management preferred. Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities. Understanding of basic manufacturing processes and how supply inventory control interacts with upstream and downstream functions. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is based in an industrial manufacturing environment where we produce pole line equipment for utility companies. The work shift is from 2pm-10:30pm, including a lunch break, with training provided in the morning. Candidates must be comfortable with overtime when required. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Pittsburg, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
