Job Description:

Arroyo Building Materials Inc. is seeking a dedicated Yard Worker to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in maintaining the operational effectiveness of our yard, providing exceptional service to our customers, and ensuring the safe handling and organization of building materials. The ideal candidate will be hardworking, reliable, and committed to upholding the highest standards of safety and efficiency in all tasks.

Responsibilities:

Material Handling :

Load and unload building materials from incoming trucks and organize them into assigned locations using forklifts and other equipment.

Inventory Management :

Conduct regular inventory checks to ensure accuracy and prepare materials for dispatch. Report any discrepancies to the supervisor.

Equipment Maintenance :

Perform basic maintenance on yard equipment and tools, ensuring they are safe and in good working condition.

Customer Assistance :

Assist customers in locating and loading materials into their vehicles, providing excellent customer service and answering any queries they may have.

Safety Compliance :

Adhere to all workplace safety guidelines and procedures, including the wearing of all required personal protective equipment.

Cleanliness and Organization :

Keep the yard and all working areas clean and organized to maintain a safe working environment.

Team Collaboration :

Work collaboratively with other team members to optimize the workflow and ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and on time.

Qualifications:

Experience in a similar role in a construction or building materials environment preferred. Strong physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials over 70lbs. Familiarity with operating heavy machinery such as forklifts is a plus. Commitment to safety procedures and efficient work practices. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay:

From $18.00 per hour
