Job Title:
Warehouse Operator Job Description The Warehouse Operator supports food production and packaging operations in a temperature-controlled bakery environment. This role focuses on preparing and assembling products to specification, operating manual and automated processing equipment, and ensuring all work meets strict food safety, quality, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards. The position requires flexibility with early morning starts, mandatory overtime when needed, and consistent, reliable attendance. Responsibilities Prep and assemble products according to established specifications and production requirements. Follow all HACCP plan procedures and food safety requirements at all times. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area throughout the shift. Configure cases and pallets safely and in accordance with company standards. Maintain scheduled production flow to help the team meet business and output goals. Arrive on time and maintain regular, consistent, and punctual attendance. Notify management immediately of any potential food safety or product quality issues. Work effectively in standardized situations with only occasional or no variables. Apply strong attention to detail to ensure accurate packaging, labeling, and product handling. Read, understand, and follow written and verbal policies, guidelines, specifications, and safety standards. Work overtime as required, including on short notice, to support production needs. Work on a flexible schedule, with start times that may vary by up to two hours before or after the usual start time. Use basic math skills to support production, counting, and labeling tasks. Operate manual and automated processing equipment safely and efficiently. Communicate with management when issues arise, whether they are work-related or personal and may affect performance or attendance. Follow strict safety procedures, food security requirements, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Perform general labor tasks such as food handling, labeling, packaging, and heavy lifting as needed. Support food production and food manufacturing activities in accordance with food industry standards. Perform other duties as assigned to support overall production and warehouse operations. Essential Skills Ability to work effectively in standardized situations with only occasional or no variables. Strong attention to detail in all aspects of production, packaging, and labeling. Ability to understand and follow written and verbal policies, guidelines, specifications, and safety standards. Ability to work overtime as required, including with short notice, based on production demands. Basic math skills to support counting, measuring, and production-related calculations. Basic English skills to read, understand, and follow instructions and safety information. Ability to communicate clearly with management about work-related or personal issues that may impact work. Ability to follow strict safety, food security, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Comfort working in a food production, food manufacturing, or food industry environment. Ability to handle heavy lifting and perform general labor tasks in a production setting. Commitment to food safety, food handling standards, and accurate labeling. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in general labor roles within a production or warehouse environment. Experience in food production, food manufacturing, or bakery operations. Familiarity with GMP environments and HACCP-based food safety systems. Experience with packaging, labeling, and food handling processes. Ability to operate manual and automated processing equipment in a production setting. Exposure to forklift operations in a warehouse or production environment. Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in a bakery and warehouse setting where some areas are colder and others are warmer. The facility operates in a temperature-controlled environment, with certain areas ranging approximately from 40 to 60 degrees, so team members should be comfortable working in cooler conditions and may wish to wear a jacket or additional layers. The position follows a Monday through Saturday schedule with a 5:00 AM start time, and start times may vary by up to two hours earlier or later depending on production needs. Mandatory overtime may be required to meet production demands. The work environment follows strict GMP, safety, food security, and food safety standards, and involves working around manual and automated processing equipment, performing general labor, heavy lifting, packaging, labeling, and other food production tasks in a busy, fast-paced production floor.ex Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Leandro, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
