Material Handler Job Description This role supports inventory management operations under close supervision, focusing on consumables, chemicals, samples, and other materials. The Material Handler maintains accurate inventory control, processes requests that drive inventory movement on and off site, and supports customer metric reporting. Responsibilities Facilitate orders for consumable laboratory inventory replenishment and accurately enter orders into computer systems, web platforms, and related tools. Receive inbound shipments from carriers such as UPS, FedEx, and other common carriers, verifying accuracy and condition of materials. Resolve shipping errors by investigating discrepancies, coordinating with carriers or internal teams, and ensuring timely corrective actions. Manage warehouse inventory for customers, including monitoring stock levels and coordinating product replenishment and delivery. Support multiple customer locations within a geographic area, including driving between facilities to perform inventory-related tasks. Perform shipping coordination activities, including answering customer calls and handling routine shipping and inventory issues in a professional manner. Essential Skills High school diploma or GED. Minimum 2 years of material handling, inventory replenishment, or customer service experience. Ability to perform accurate material handling activities, including picking, packing, and inventory movements. Strong customer service skills with a professional, can-do attitude. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely and repeatedly as needed. Basic digital literacy and comfort working with computer-based systems for ordering, inventory tracking, and reporting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Santa Clara, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
