Warehouse Worker/Shipping

Founded in 1904 Kingsdown, Inc is recognized as a pioneer in the sleep industry manufacturing mattresses using handcrafted techniques combined with state-of-the-art research, materials and equipment. We are seeking candidates for a Wrapping and Shipping position at our facility in Stockton, CA.

JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for final inspection, testing, minor cleaning and repairs, and placing finished products in plastic bags in accordance with the published schedule. This position uses published work instructions, daily schedules, knowledge, expertise to ensure work is performed in an effective, efficient, and safe manner as needed to satisfy internal and external customer requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform testing of mattresses.
• Inspect finished mattresses and box springs and perform minor cleaning and repairs in accordance with product specifications and company standards.
• Operates wrapping machine and packages materials in accordance with published schedule.
• Remove the assembled materials from the conveyor appropriately without damaging it and place it in the designated area.
• Responsible for maintaining quality service through close attention to detail in accordance with product specifications and delivery requirements.
• Assist with loading of product in trucks as needed.
• Performs duties safely and maintains a clean and safe work environment in compliance with established policies and procedures.
• Report any safety hazards, work injuries or building and equipment concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Maintains a culture that supports team work, encourages good performance, and enhances productivity.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, JOB KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• At least two years of related work in manufacturing, preferred.
• Must be able to prioritize and multi-task according to daily schedule.
• Must be able to read and comprehend required documents, such as safety rules, operating procedures, schedules and instructions.
• Must be knowledgeable in the safe use of operation of special equipment such as hand truck and moving equipment, and assorted hand tools.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

• Work requires standing approximately 25% of the time, walking and moving around the facility 75% of the time.
• Job duties require occasionally lifting and carrying up to 100 lbs. Must occasionally push and pull up to 100 lbs. When practical, assistance, special lifting and moving equipment should be utilized.
• Job responsibilities require frequent reaching with hands and arms and moving around the production areas. Manual dexterity is needed for handling materials and adjusting controls.
• Normal visual, hearing and speaking abilities are required by this job.
• Must follow safety precautions and use personal protective equipment when needed, such as close toe shoes, safety glasses, earplugs, and gloves.
• Moderate noise associated with a typical manufacturing work environment.

Pay Range:
