Forklift Operator - 2nd Shift Job Description This 2nd shift Forklift Operator role supports a high-volume distribution warehouse by safely operating stand-up high reach and sit-down forklifts to load, unload, and move inventory. You will play a key role in shipping and receiving activities, supporting major projects and seasonal ramp-ups while maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient work environment. Responsibilities Unload incoming trucks and manage the overall shipping and receiving flow. Operate sit-down forklifts and Crown stand-up high reach forklifts to move, stage, and store inventory. Use electric rider pallet jacks to transport pallets and materials throughout the warehouse. Load and unload trailers accurately and efficiently, ensuring proper palletizing and repalletizing as needed. Support high-volume trailer operations, including an expected volume of up to 21 trailers per day during peak periods. Assist with ramp-up activities for holiday projects and large retail-related initiatives. Use RF scanners to scan, track, and manage inventory and labels. Perform labeling, shrink wrapping, and other packaging tasks to prepare shipments. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area at all times. Follow all written and verbal instructions, standard operating procedures, and safety protocols. Participate in hands-on certification and training related to forklift and warehouse safety. Demonstrate awareness of warehouse safety standards and promptly report any hazards or incidents. Lift and move materials up to 50 pounds as part of daily tasks. Work independently, managing time and tasks effectively in a high-volume environment. Communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing, with team members and supervisors. Contribute to overall warehouse efficiency and teamwork during high-demand periods. Essential Skills Proven experience operating sit-down forklifts in a warehouse or distribution environment. Proven experience operating Crown stand-up high reach forklifts. Experience using electric rider pallet jacks for material handling. Demonstrated ability to safely load and unload trailers. Hands-on experience with RF scanners for inventory tracking and labeling. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on your feet in a high-volume setting. Ability to speak, write, and communicate effectively in English. Ability to self-manage and work independently while following established procedures. Strong understanding of warehouse safety standards and adherence to safety protocols. Willingness to work Monday to Friday, 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM, with openness to overtime and Saturdays as needed. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in a distribution or warehouse environment with high trailer volume. experience in palletizing, repalletizing, and shrink wrapping pallets for shipment. Familiarity with labeling processes and basic inventory organization. Comfort working with basic math for counts, inventory checks, and pallet quantities. Exposure to basic computer tools or spreadsheets, including simple use of Excel, is a plus. Participation in prior forklift certification or hands-on safety training is beneficial. Experience working on large-scale or seasonal ramp-up projects is an advantage. Why Work Here? You will work with sit-down forklifts, Crown stand-up high reach forklifts, electric rider pallet jacks, and RF scanners as part of daily tasks. The site offers a spacious parking lot with over 600 parking spaces available for staff and contractors.
