YARD OPS- MATERIAL HANDLER
Job Summary A Yard worker handles materials, equipment, and inventory in a busy yard, organizing supplies (like doors, baseboard, microwaves...etc.), and ensuring a safe, clean site for construction or production support. A Yard worker keeps the yard organized, clean, and functional by loading/unloading materials, managing inventory, operating machinery (forklifts, pallet jacks), protecting buildings from water intrusion, performing basic equipment maintenance (cleaning, monitoring battery water levels), assisting with shipments, and ensuring all activities adhere to strict safety standards, supporting the overall efficiency of construction projects.
Key Responsibilities Material Handling:
Loading, unloading, sort, and store building materials, tools, moving, and organizing building supplies, equipment, and products.
Inventory Control & Organization:
Keeping the yard tidy and ensuring easy access to items.
Site/Yard Maintenance:
Cleaning work areas and performing minimal basic upkeep. Keep the yard clean, organized, and free of hazards.
Equipment Management/Operation:
Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or loaders for moving materials and hand/power tools; perform pre-use checks, cleaning, and report needed repairs on machinery and tools.
Safety Compliance:
Adhere to all company safety policies, report unsafe conditions, and participate in safety meetings.
Skills & Qualifications:
Physical Fitness:
Ability to lift heavy objects (50+ lbs.) and work outdoors in various weather. Physical stamina for heavy lifting and outdoor work in various weather.
Basic Skills:
High School Diploma/GED, reliability, teamwork, and attention to safety.
Helpful Certifications:
Forklift certification, OSHA 10. Ability to operate various machinery safely (training often provided).
Experience:
Warehouse, construction, or related industry experience is a plus. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Teamwork and communication skills. Reliability and a strong work ethic. Ability to communicate effectively in
English Work Environment Fast-Paced:
Can be loud, demanding, and involves working around heavy machinery.
Outdoor/Indoor:
Work may occur both inside warehouses and outside in the yard.

Shift Schedule:
5:00am-1:30pm
Salary Range:
$20.00 - $25.00

Typically:
Monday - Friday 5:00am to 1:30pm. Some Saturday work will be required. Early in and Late out (OT) are available at different times of the year.
