GENERAL SUMMARY

SCOPE OF CLASSIFICATION
To support Production by performing scheduled product changes and ensuring successful runs. Maintain daily operations of the AFP facility in compliance with company policies, union agreements, and California labor laws.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Palletize product and complete pallet tags accurately Push cans and maintain proper can usage logs Perform rework and complete recap sheets Maintain general housekeeping in plant areas Clean walls, mop work areas, and maintain overall plant cleanliness Advise foreman or supervisor of potential problems Keep work area neat and clean Other duties as assigned
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
Working knowledge of AFP procedures and record keeping Knowledge of departmental and job-specific safety regulations; attend safety meetings Compliance with all applicable policies, attendance requirements, house and safety rules, and the Collective Bargaining Agreement May rotate to other positions and perform additional duties as assigned
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma preferred Proficient math and reading skills
EXPERIENCE KNOWLEDGE SKILLS
Familiarity with OSHA and Cal/OSHA safety standards Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions Oral and written communication skills for safety programs and problem-solving Ability to read and understand English text and numbers on work orders and process sheets
PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS
Moderate to heavy work; frequent lifting up to 55 lbs Ability to meet quality and quantity standards while performing repetitive tasks Stamina to remain in a stationary position or move throughout the work area for full shifts Coordination of hands, arms, eyes, legs, and feet Ability to reach, stretch, stoop, bend, and move materials Visual and auditory ability to safely operate around machinery Reasonable accommodations will be provided in accordance with the ADA and California
FEHA EQUIPMENT & TOOLS USED
Precision measuring instruments, and standard tools of the trade
WORK ENVIORNMENT AND SAFETY CONSIDERATION
Exposure to heat, cold, and moderate to heavy machine noise Work on uneven or occasionally wet floors Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided at no cost; compliance with GMP and Cal/OSHA standards required Participation in Injury & Illness Prevention Program (IIPP)
SUPERVISION
Direct supervision from Supervisor or Foreman
ANY OTHER MAJOR CHARACTERISTICS
Ability to work any of three shifts Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed Must comply with union membership provisions under the Collective Bargaining Agreement and applicable law
REPLACEMENT IN THE EVENT OF ABSENCE
Relief/Vacation relief person or designated employee
PAY TRANSPARENCY
This position is classified under Bracket VII of the union pay scale. The hourly rate is determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
