Warehouse Worker Job Description The Warehouse Worker supports daily warehouse operations by accurately picking cartons, shrink-wrapping pallets, and moving palletized materials using manual or electric pallet jacks. This role requires frequent physical activity, including bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting, twisting, pushing, and pulling, as well as the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. The position operates in a warehouse or distribution environment and relies on strong reading, writing, and communication skills to follow instructions and maintain accuracy. Responsibilities Pick cartons and orders accurately and efficiently according to work instructions and order documentation. Perform frequent physical tasks such as bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting, twisting, pushing, and pulling throughout the shift. Shrink-wrap pallets securely to prepare orders for storage or outbound shipment. Move palletized materials safely using manual or electric pallet jacks, following all equipment operation guidelines. Load and unload materials from trailers or staging areas as required. Use RF scanners or similar devices to scan, track, and verify inventory and orders. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with warehouse standards. Follow written and verbal instructions, including work orders, safety procedures, and operational guidelines. Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors to coordinate tasks and resolve basic issues. Handle products and materials carefully to minimize damage and ensure accurate order fulfillment. Essential Skills Experience working in a warehouse or distribution environment. Ability to safely operate manual and electric pallet jacks. Capability to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. Comfort with frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting, twisting, pushing, and pulling during the workday. Basic reading and writing skills to follow written instructions and documentation. Clear verbal communication skills to understand directions and work with team members. Ability to perform order picking and carton picking with attention to accuracy. Experience with loading and unloading materials in a warehouse setting. Additional Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or GED strongly preferred. Familiarity with RF scanners or handheld devices for inventory and order tracking. Experience with shrink-wrapping pallets and preparing shipments. General warehouse tasks such as picking, packing, loading, and unloading. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment. Why Work Here? Work Environment The position is based in a warehouse or distribution facility that focuses on the movement and storage of palletized goods. You will regularly operate manual and electric pallet jacks and use RF scanners or similar devices to track inventory and orders. The work involves standing and walking for most of the shift, along with frequent bending, lifting, and other physical movements. The environment may include active loading docks, storage aisles, and staging areas with ongoing equipment and material movement. Appropriate work attire should be practical and suitable for a physically active warehouse setting, with required safety gear such as closed-toe shoes and any additional protective equipment provided or specified by the facility. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Walnut, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
