JOB TITLE
: Material Handler
FUNCTIONAL AREA
Production Floor, Warehouse
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsibilities:
Requisitions all materials required for molding and finishing jobs. The material handler maintains production and distribution of product by pulling items from inventory, delivering production materials and supplies and the staging of finished product. Preps for job runs by cleaning Dryers, Grinders, etc. and performs warehouse returns.
This position reports to:
Shift Supervisor
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Requisitions from warehouse through work order pick lists all job materials.
  • Prepares molding jobs by identifying, preparing, and staging materials for drying and molding.
  • Cleans all dryers and granulators to assure contaminate free moldings.
  • Prepares corrugation for press side jobs
  • Record materials and mixing data on specified forms
  • Mix resins by using appropriate machines and mixing for specified times.
  • Weigh or measure materials, ingredients, or products to ensure conformance to requirements.
  • Assists floor in operator break schedule.
  • Assures proper materials identification throughout job process.
  • Participates in all scheduled physical inventories
  • Transfer materials, supplies, or products between work areas, using moving equipment or hand tools.
  • Learn and uphold company standards to ensure maximum customer satisfaction and optimize work efficiency. Strive to achieve company-specified production targets.
  • Keep workspace clean and organized to maximize safety and productivity.
  • Learn, understand, and follow company requirements for employee safety, product quality and productivity.
  • Communicate clearly with teammates and supervisors regarding all aspects of the job.
  • Performs, as assigned other similar or related duties.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
  • Computer Literacy in Microsoft applications (Word & Excel)
  • Strong sense of time organizations and urgency.
  • Attentive and detail orientated.
  • Experience in forklift, pallet jack and other heavy equipment operation and obtaining internal license.
  • Ability to lift to 50 pounds, stand/walk continuously and perform physical tasks.
  • A minimum of 1 years' experience in similar role.
  • Able to work independently and within a team.
  • Strong commitment and ability to follow safety rules and procedures and utilize safety equipment.
  • Must be proficient in English (communication & reading).
  • Ability to perform basic math functions to record production output.
  • Flexibility in terms of shift scheduling, including scheduling for overtime, Saturdays and holiday shifts.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • High School Education or
GED EXPERIENCE
  • A minimum of 1 years' experience in similar role.
  • Experience in forklift, pallet jack and other heavy equipment operation
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
PREFERRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
  • Fork Lift Certification, or strong Forklift Experience
